What ERG are you a part of and what is your role in the group?
I’m a part of Blak’stars as our Communications Chair.
What does being in Blak’stars mean to you?
Blak’stars is important because it allows me to celebrate my identity while building a foundation for personal and professional growth. Early in my career, I’ve learned how important it is to have spaces to feel supported and inspired, and Blak’stars provides that. It reminds me that my background and experiences are valuable, and it motivates me to grow into a leader who uplifts others.
How has your time in Blak’stars improved your Rokt experience?
I’ve been through several changes here at Rokt and can say that my ERG has constantly supported me and made sure that I am comfortable taking on new tasks and challenges. I’ve also been able to connect with mentors who can answer any questions, no matter the topic.
What are you looking to get out of Blak’stars this year?
This year with Black’stars I’m looking forward to continuing to build up my network. As we look to attend and host events throughout the year, it will be a tremendous opportunity to network and be in rooms and conversations with very inspiring people.
What would you tell somebody interested in joining Rokt about your ERG?
I would tell them that Blak’stars are here to support everyone. Our goal is to educate and, through education, connect with our fellow Rokt’stars. This year, there’s an emphasis on Better Together, and that is one of the values Blak’stars really show on a day-to-day basis.
What advice would you give new hires wanting to get involved with an ERG?
Go for it; all the ERGs here at Rokt are amazing groups to be a part of, and so many opportunities come out of them.
What skills or experiences have you gained through your involvement that you might not have otherwise?
I became a better communicator, and my collaborative work and ability to think critically have improved. We move fast here, and it’s important to always be ready to find a solution.
What are some of your hobbies or passions outside the office?
Outside the office, I love watching sports, playing card games, shopping for clothes, and traveling.
